It was with great sadness as I learned about the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. I had just woken up and had to shake my head a few times to make sure I was hearing it right. I'm an American by birth with deep Scottish roots. I'm one American that wished that she had been under the reign of Her Majesty The Queen. I've gotten quite a few odd looks for making that statement but the statement is the truth. The Queen was one of my favorite people in the world. I agree with the world right now in saying that she was the world's grandmother. She was a shining example of what women should be. She was the most powerful woman in the world!

I did something about four days ago that I'm glad that I did. I bought a small plot of land in Scotland to plant a tree on. The entitled me to the legal title of Lady. The certificate with the entitlement bears the decree of Queen Elizabeth II that I am now titled Lady. I was skeptical when I did it but decided to give it a chance. Now I'm so very glad that I did and, unbeknownst to me, was just a few days before she died. I will cherish that forever! Such a remarkable woman! I am so glad that it is her decree on my title.

I've had a bad feeling since Prince Phillip died. I know that many times that when a couple is married that long and one of them dies, it is likely that the other soon follows them in death. It is as if the idea that when two become one flesh is literally true. It does give us something to think about.

Queen Elizabeth II was a lady of very high moral standards and I honor that about her. She upheld her beliefs and duties of Head of the Church of England with dignity and perfection. Her faith, being Defender of The Faith, was high and that made her even stronger. Her personal faith was the standard upon which she lived her life and reigned.

The Queen and the Royal Family are in my own prayers and will be for a long time as they have always been.

I am one of the millions of people who feels like they knew Her Majesty even though I've never met her. The queen loved her colorful outfits and so do I. She loved her dogs, and I loved mine. She loved her hats that were used so people could spot her from long distances, and I also love my own hats. She treated people like people. She was personable. I have my own standards of how people should be treated. That made me love her even more. There are tons of things that I could list here. She is close to my heart and will always be.

My heart grieves.

I'm looking forward to seeing what King Charles III will bring to the throne. I love many things about the Queen Consort as well.

God save the King!
